Professor Evans Akwasi Gyasi
DIRECTOR
Professor Evans Akwasi Gyasi is a highly accomplished professional with extensive experience in education, finance, agriculture, and technology. His passion for trade growth is driven by a deep belief in the transformative power of commerce to fuel economic development, create opportunities, and foster connections across borders. Evans views trade as a vital engine for growth, innovation, and prosperity, especially in emerging markets and developing economies, where it can play a critical role in eradicating hunger and poverty on the African continent.
Currently, he serves as an Associate Professor in International Trade at the School of Economics, Finance, and Law, and as the Deputy Head of School for UG International Business Programs at Anglia Ruskin University in the UK. Previously, Evans spent nearly a decade at Coventry University, overseeing the MBA Senior Leader Apprenticeship Course and teaching International Business and Business Analytics at Coventry Business School. He holds a PhD from the University of Warwick and is a Fellow of the Chartered Management Institute (CMI) and a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (SFHEA).
Evans brings extensive expertise and strategic insight from his work across consulting, banking, and corporate leadership. His research focuses on trade in emerging economies, particularly Africa, Asia, and South America. He has led collaborative research projects and provided consultancy services for businesses and institutions in the UK, Ghana, Egypt, Turkey, and Indonesia. His deep passion for global economic dynamics, trade policies, and market trends drives his engagement in international trade and his ability to build effective relationships with global partners, especially considering cultural nuances in trade negotiations and collaborations.

Dr. Abena Nyarkoa (Abbie)
DIRECTOR
Dr. Abena Nyarkoa, also known as Abbie, is an educationist, researcher, and human rights advocate with a distinguished ten-year career in capacity development across education, business, and voluntary sectors. Her work is focused on promoting an equitable future through trade growth, education, and advocacy. Abbie believes that enhancing regional trade networks and promoting collaboration among African countries are essential to achieving economic development, job creation, and elevated living standards.
Abbie is also a fellow member of the Chartered Institute of Labor & Human Resource Managers (CILHRM).
A passionate advocate for the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 1 (No Poverty), Abbie is dedicated to empowering businesses and communities to leverage trade for sustainable growth. She is a Fellow Member at The Institute of Labour and Industrial Relations and a Global Goodwill Ambassador in the UK and Ghana. Abbie is also an advisor at VAMG Research Consult and has served as a Board Member for the Rural Heights Foundation.
Abbie is a proactive speaker, youth coach, and volunteer for Cancer Research UK, where she raises public awareness about cancer prevention and lobbies for government policies supporting cancer prevention, diagnosis, and treatment initiatives. As the founder of the NKUNIM project, she promotes Special Education Needs and Inclusive Practice in public education. Abbie holds a PhD from the University of Warwick, where her research focused on Education Leadership, Equity, Access, and Fairness. Currently, she is a lecturer in Logistics & Supply Chain Management at the University of Bedfordshire Business School.
